Why “Express”?

My great-grandfather arrived in New York from Ireland in 1873 as a 17-year-old, and within a short time started his Boston-based delivery business, Anderson’s Express. The sign at the top of this page appeared on each of his wagons – and later, his fleet of trucks – as he, his sons, and his drivers made deliveries to restaurants, hotels, colleges, and businesses all over the Boston area.

James Anderson’s sons, including my grandfather, closed Anderson’s Express in the 1950s, telling their own children that they wanted them to go to college instead of running the family delivery business.

I want to honor our family roots by providing a new century’s version of fast, reliable, high-quality delivery – now offered to individuals and businesses all over the world.

How does “Express” relate to writing and copy editing?

Three ways.

  1. I help you express yourself in writing, in the most effective way possible, given your personal style, your goals for the piece, and the needs of your audience.
  2. I’m fast! And if you’ve got a deadline, I take it as seriously as you do.
  3. Just like my great-grandfather, I deliver. You’ll get thoughtful, high-quality, persnickety content and copy editing and proofreading. And you’ll know you have a partner who’s got your back, so your work will express exactly what you had in mind.
