About

Hi! I’m Annie Anderson, sole proprietor of Anderson Express Wordsmith.

I come to editing from a career in healthcare management—not the usual route.

I worked in health policy at a state level and then as a strategic planner and senior project manager in a large multihospital integrated delivery system in New England. I also spent some enjoyable time as a project manager and new business director in a children’s music company. I have a degree in English from Wellesley College and an MBA in Healthcare Management from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.

Now I work with clients all over the world, in a wide variety of fields and with a wide variety of audiences.

In all my work, I’ve had to pay attention to both the details and the big picture, and to both the writing and the technical data and graphics. As a natural wordsmith, I’ve always been the de facto editor wherever I work. I love grammatical, succinct, and elegant writing, and I’m committed to understanding who the audience is and what they need in order to really understand what the author wants to say.

And I love learning new things! One of the best things about freelance editing is learning about my clients’ work.
